Hello, I'm Oscar

I'm a Software Developer

About me

I'm Oscar and I am passionate about writing clean, semantic code. I'm available for hire in the web/software development sector. When I'm not sat in front of my laptop, I can be found in the park playing football with my child or having a good time with my family making a bbq.

If I were to describe myself in code it might look like.....

I started my journey by teaching myself Html, CSS after that I decided to go a little step forward and make a JavaScript course in Udemy, where I found that coding is not only challenging, you can have a loot of fun building apps, games or just making some projects to practise and improve your knowledge

I decided to take my abilities to the next level and invested in a coding bootcamp. After much research I choose The Jump Digital School. The syllabus is very comprehensive and teaches the latest tech. I learnt so much during the course and I'm now ready to work full time in the industry.

Projects

The Pizza Palace

The Pizza Palace is a proof of concept project that shows my knowledge and understanding of React. It is essentially a pizza restaurant themed web app that allows users to sign up as a costumer. Manage your order and check when is ready or the delivery time.

Whilst this was an extremely challenging project, it helped me appreciate just how awesome frontend frameworks like react really are and also helped solidify my JavaScript knowledge.

PopCorn

Popcorn is an innovative showcase of my proficiency in React, exemplifying advanced web development skills. This meticulously crafted movie-themed web application empowers users to seamlessly explore, rate, and maintain a personalized record of their favorite films. With an emphasis on a sleek and intuitive interface, Popcorn delivers a professional-grade user experience.

Weather App

This was one of the homework tasks from the The Jump Digital School JavaScript module. The brief was to create a simple weather application that gets data from an api and manipulates the DOM using vanilla javascript to display the data on the screen.

The app uses geolocation to get a users current location and displays the weather for where they are. There is an input box where a user can search for a place; this then returns the weather for the location searched. The app gives the user the current weather, the days forecast in 3 hourly intervals and also a daily forecast for the following 5 days. Other features include the background changing colour depending on the current weather conditions.

Tic Tac Toe

Welcome to this game, where you'll get a taste of JavaScript, React HTML, and CSS. Classic version of the tic tac toe game, completely functional to enjoy and chech my improvement with my React skills.

Mapty, record your workout

This was my piece of homework from Udemy on their Complete JavaScript Course. Project Objective, establish a comprehensive system for tracking cycling and running workouts, recording key data such as duration, cadence (for cycling), distance, date, and other relevant details. The aim is to promote effective physical activity monitoring and the achievement of fitness goals while ensuring organized and accessible data storage for future reference.

Bankist

This was my piece of homework from Udemy on their Complete JavaScript Course. This project, implemented in JavaScript, represents an impressive showcase of my acquired skills and knowledge. It provides a seamless and versatile user experience, allowing you to navigate through various menus, including a dedicated account creation page. This application demonstrates my ability to create interactive and functional interfaces using JavaScript technology
